I have not had the pleasure of visiting this huge monster. I can tell you that each 16 inch shell weighed in excess 1800 lb the approx weight of a VW Bug. The range, I believe was over 20 miles and at that range a 20 ft thick wall of reinforced concrete could be breached!

I was on-board during this picture. It was the only 21 gun firing solution ever completed. At that time I was the Boatswain of the watch during GQ. Talk about fun....

I was on the ground near Da Nang in 1968 when this girl cut loose in support of us. If you think the picture of the big guns firing is awesome, you should be on the OTHER end when those 2,700-pound High Explosive babies landed. Now THAT was AWESOME to behold. Pinpoint accuracy from over 20 miles away.
