In the middle, USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE-14), a Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship, is the first ship operated by the United States Navy to be named for Cesar Chavez (1927–93), labor leader and civil rights activist. Mr. Chávez joined the Navy at the age of seventeen in 1944 during World War II, and served for two years. Cesar Chavez's keel was laid down on 9 May 2011 by the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) in San Diego. The ship was launched on 5 May 2012
Starboard to the supply ship is HMCS Toronto (FFH 333) is a Halifax-class frigate that has served in the Canadian Forces since 1993. Toronto is the fourth ship in her class which is the name for the Canadian Patrol Frigate Project. She is the second vessel (and frigate) to carry the designation HMCS Toronto. When not on operations she is assigned to Maritime Forces Atlantic (MARLANT) and is based at CFB Halifax. Toronto serves on MARLANT missions protecting Canada's sovereignty in the Atlantic Ocean and enforcing Canadian laws in its territorial sea and Exclusive Economic Zone.
Port side to the supply ship is USS Stockdale (DDG-106) an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer in the United States Navy. The third U.S. Navy ship of that name, Stockdale is named after Vice Admiral James Bond Stockdale (1923–2005) and is the 56th destroyer in her class.

HMCS Toronto! Yeah! Go Canada! Nice to see we can (sort of) keep up with the BIG boys! LOL I know we are going into heavy duty patrol of our Arctic waters, where Russia has been pushing its weight around lately! Our new ships will be a permanent presence joining Canada's massive ice breakers! These guys seem rather CLOSE to each other, ..but it makes for a GORGEOUS shot! Thanks John! -Cassie fav+1
