One of 12 Armidale class and charged with fishery protection & border patrol duties The Armidale class are part of the Australian Patrol Boat Group which had two operating bases, one at Cairns and the other in Darwin. I believe the Maitland is at Darwin. All are very fast with a top speed in excess of 25 knots! One of the great features is the 25mm stabilised gun mount
